The Bridgeport Film Fest is the product of a partnership between Groundwork Bridgeport and Artistic Director Jason A. Coombs, an independent filmmaker and professional actor originally from Bridgeport, CT.
For Groundwork, our aim for the Film Fest is to support arts-based community and economic revitalization, bringing people from within and outside of the city out to enjoy films and contribute to a sense of vibrancy that helps with economic development. While Groundwork is known for its interventions in the physical environment, we know that the impact of economic decline on the city has negative social implications including a lack of activities that contribute to an overall positive quality of life. The Film Fest is part of our holistic approach to urban regeneration, reflecting our desire to improve upon the city's social, cultural, and economic conditions by attracting visitors from outside the city while uniting the community in a time of isolation.

Your tax deductible donation will go towards the following:

- location fees for our three-day event
- virtual film fest platform fees
- covering the costs for low-income families to attend free of charge
- marketing materials to get the word out about the event
- a student brunch on the final day of the festival where we bring in successful artists originally from Bridgeport to share their experiences and answer questions about being working artists.
